We have found that, while there is interest in being “green,” but few people see the connection between their daily actions and the effects they may have on the ocean. Moreover, the meaning of “sustainability” and living a sustainable lifestyle is nebulous to many. The World Aquarium introduces a new tour based on market research aimed to the public about our conservation based operation emerging global issues and to better understand today’s present opportunities at the Aquarium. The “World Aquarium Wildlife Conservation and Sustainable Living Tour” will give traditional animal and habitat information, but will also address challenges to each type of ecosystem within the continent it is located. As specific effects affect different ecosystems in its own unique way, the tour is aimed at educating consumers about specific challenges locally, nationally and worldwide and suggesting actions which will help ameliorate negative environmental effects through personalized actions.
